Lagoon

We got a babysitter for Corinne, and took Camryn and Kendra to Lagoon. We were all excited to ride the rides.

As soon as we got there, we got started. Kent thought he was looking at the line for the cars you drive around. Kendra wasn't tall enough, so I took her over to the carousel while Kent and Camryn got in line. It turns out, they weren't in line for the cars, but for the white roller coaster.

Camryn was excited. Then it started going fast. She ducked down as far as she could and closed her eyes the whole time. She tried so hard to act brave. She said she had to close her eyes because the wind was so fast. She said she had fun. Kent asked if she wanted to go again. A look of fear came over her and she quickly said no.
.
Probably not the best first ride.

Kendra had fun on the carousel.
Then I thought it would be fun to go on the swinging boat. Kent thought it would be too much for them, but I thought it would be okay. The girls agreed to try it.
Happy and ready to go.
The first swing
Then it got up to real speed.
I can't stop laughing at this one. I must be a mean mom.
After this, Camryn and I went on the swings. They went pretty high and fast. While we were going, Camryn says "Why do I try to be brave?"
She'd had enough of the big rides. We stuck with the kid rides after that.
We found the real line for the cars.

This was the Dinosaur Drop. They lift you way up, then let you drop. Kendra wanted to try it, even though it looked a little scary. Camryn wanted to watch.

After Camryn saw Kendra and Daddy have so much fun, she wanted to try it too.
They both loved this one so much, that we came back and rode it again later.
We rode the train to see the animals. They had camels and tigers and all sorts of animals.
We also got wet. We went down Rattle-Snake Rapids. I was the one that least wanted to get wet, but I thought I could try to avoid the water to a point. Not everyone gets soaked.
I sat on the wrong side of our raft. As we approached the torrent of water pouring off the rocks over half of our raft, everyone else squished around the other side. There was no room for me. I got DRENCHED.
We all got wet later, when we went swimming. The girls had fun in the pools with the caves and waterfalls. Then we headed back for a few more rides before going home.
We are so happy we did this. We feel like we got so much quality time together. It was so fun to ride rides together. There is nothing better than seeing your kids happy, laughing, and having fun.

Summer Things

Every girl does it.
.
Every girl cuts her hair at some time in her childhood. At least that's what I've heard.
.
Except Camryn. She did not cut her own hair. She cut Kendra's hair. When Camryn was about 4 years old and Kendra was about 2, Camryn cut off one of Kendra's cute little pig-tails.
Kendra, on the other hand, did what every girl is said to do. She cut her own hair. She cut her bangs, while she was with Jeff. She said her hair was in her eyes. She fixed that problem.
They are super duper short. Now Kendra says she learned her lesson, and she says her hair will grow back. I sure love you Kendra, and you are beautiful no matter what. Though I am very happy that hair does grow back.
HIDE-N-SEEK
With school out, we have had more time to play. Camryn and Kendra love playing hide-n-seek, so the three of us played. Kent even got involved helping them find the best hiding places.
Can you find Camryn? She is somewhere in our bathroom.
Where is Camryn now?
How about Kendra. Where is she?
"You found me!"
Kendra was in between the shower curtains, up on the ledge.
Trip to Utah
We headed down to Utah, so Kent could help his Grandpa fix up our new car.
While the men worked, us girls got to pick cherries.
Camryn had a blast climbing the tree to get as many cherries as she could.
Kendra got to pick from my shoulders.
Corinne got to play on the grass.
Her great-grandpa always picks her some flowers to play with.

After the tree was picked clean, we left the men to their work and headed to Grandma Joy's to pick peas. The girls ate 3 for every one they put in their bag.
Corinne had to have a two hands full and a mouth full of peas, all at once.
Corinne really loves her vegetables.
I don't know who was enjoying this more, Corinne mowing down on the corn, or Grandma Joy laughing at her cuteness?
Camryn and Kendra also love playing inside Grandma's ball.

That's some of our summer fun.

Midway Reunion

My parents planned a get-together for us kids and our families. They reserved a condo in Midway, Utah.
Before heading to Midway, we spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandpa loves teasing and spoiling his grandchildren. He showed his great-granddaughters how to make real root beer.
The girls loved their root beer, fizz and all.
Grandma and Grandpa's basement is a kids dream. They have ice cream with toppings, a shake mixer, a popcorn machine, and candy vending machines. Complete with an old-fashioned cash register loaded with change to buy the candy.
We all enjoyed spending time together at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Corinne was tired and needed a nap. I just laid her on the floor in a spare bedroom and shut the door. A little while later, I found her like this.
She pulled a pillow off the chair and got comfy.
She's pretty cute.

From there, we headed to Miday. There was so much fun stuff to do. We went on several beautiful walks up the mountain.
We swam in the pool.
When we first got Corinne in the pool, she did not like the pool at all.She warmed up to it though, and enjoyed splashing and playing.
Camryn has always loved swimming.
Kendra loves it too.
The guys tried to make a human tower.
Kent was about to get on the bottom under Jonathan.
It didn't last long enough to get a picture.
But they still had to show how tough they are.
Kendra loves her aunt Jessica, absolutely loves her.
We also played Ultimate Frisbee. We LOVE this game. Nicole took some cute couple pictures after a game.

After that, we need a cool off in the pool.

We always have to do a silly picture. You might not want to look to close at this one. We are pretty odd.
.
Our wonderful mom stayed and watched all the granddaughters while we went to Snowbird to play.
We got to ride the Alpine Slide.
We all got cruisin' pretty fast. It was awesome!

We rode the lift up to the zip-line.
Our group waiting on the stairs for our turn.
Taylor and Amanda went first.

The zip-line was one of my favorites.

We shared some delicious pizza for lunch.
We rode the sky-tram to the top of the mountain. It was beautiful up at the top.
We rode back down, and headed for some bull-riding.
