US GIRLS

I finally got a day off work. I have been working a lot lately, to cover other's vacation. Kent has been wonderful to help me out a ton, with laundry and dishes and stuff. I still fall behind on things though.

Well, today I finally got a day off. I had to prioritize the things I wanted to get done.
Number 1 on my list: SPEND TIME WITH MY GIRLS.
We started the day with pancakes. I made the girls heart shaped pancakes. Kent started this pancake thing. He can make Mickey Mouse pancakes, heart shaped pancakes that say "I love you," and such fancy things. Sadly, he had to work today, so we had to make due with my simple heart pancakes.
Later, we planned a picnic. I let the girls make their own PB&Js. This was their first time, and they did GREAT!
Then we loaded up and walked to the park.
We also brought veggies and Hidden Valley Ranch! Okay, it was really Kraft, but don't tell Camryn.

Then the girls played.

We brought the dogs along. Camryn started running with Tobi on a leash. All the little kids there LOVED little Tobi. They got quite a following.

After we got home and quiet time was over, the girls wanted to put on their princess dresses. We went downstairs and put on Enya and danced like ballerinas. It's a good thing I can't take a picture of myself dancing with the girls. The girls look so much cuter doing it.

These are some of the times I want to remember. The simple times we take time to spend time together.

How you know your kids are watching WAY too much TV!!!

I recently installed t.v. at our house after Kathleen and the girls had gone without it for two years. I installed the DVR from DISH Network thinking we could record kids shows and let them watch the "educational" ones. Good idea right??

Well... when you set kids up for education, you never know what they're going to learn. While coloring, Camryn said, "Mommy, when are we going to get Hidden Valley Ranch?" After we caught our breath... I asked her what Hidden Valley Ranch was. She said, "Something that makes things taste yummy."

Who knew? I guess she's learning just as much from the commercials as she is from Dora.

Camping Out in Jarbidge, Nevada

Camryn said this to me a few weeks ago,
"Mom, remember a long, long, loooong, loooooong time ago when we went camping? Can we go again?"
The girls LOVE camping.
They spent the weekend being Dora and Boots.
This was our first time to come here, and we LOVED IT!!! Kent spent the entire weekend impressing us all with his incredible outdoorsman abilities!!! You should have seen him light the camp fire with only a box of matches and two rolls of toilet paper...amazing!
What is camping without fire roasted hot dogs and marshmallows? Our girls do it right!
They loved the small river. It started with throwing rocks. But soon they were wading in it. The water was SO COLD, but it didn't bother those girls one bit. Kent and I stayed out of the water as much as possible. Kendra's "PLEEEASE DADDY" and sweet smile made Kent go in once... which is why he's walking like a little girl in the picture. It was seriously FREEZING!

We all took a nap, every single day.
We woke up one day to Camryn sleeping like this. I guess a book and blanket was better than her sleeping bag on an air mattress.
We are teaching her to read the good ones.

The best part was all the time we got to spend together as a family. Kent makes the best Swiper and Kendra and Camryn got to be really good at saying, "Swiper...No Swiping!"
"OH.....MAN!!!!"
